2024 What are the documents to prepare for entry into the UK?
1.Passport
Passport must be valid for more than 6 months.
2.Return or Departure Ticket
A return or departure ticket is second only to your passport as the most important thing you need to get to the UK. A return or departure ticket means that you will be leaving the UK at a precise time and will not be staying in the UK illegally. A return ticket is a ticket to fly back to Shanghai from Shanghai; a departure ticket is a ticket to go to another country after entering the UK from Shanghai.
3.Documents related to the purpose of entry
Assuming that you are going sightseeing, you can make an itinerary of your sightseeing trip. Make a list of the sightseeing spots you will visit every day, which hotel you will stay at, and the telephone number of the hotel, and print out the list. If customs has any doubts about the itinerary, you can call the hotel directly. I understand that you can't book accommodation for every day of your long trip, but it is important that you get your first accommodation in the UK well in advance. If you are travelling on business, you should provide your company's travel documents and invitation letter.
4.Proof of financial strength, cash, credit card
The main purpose of financial proof is to prove that there is no possibility of illegal behaviour in the UK. Please apply for the English version of the financial proof, and go directly to the bank to apply for the English version of the deposit certificate. If you are going to many European countries at the same time, tell the teller that you want to present it in euros. The cash part, the customs may ask how much money you bring in the body, more than 10,000 euros to declare.
5.Proof of insurance
The United Kingdom is a non-Schengen country, there is no mandatory Schengen insurance, but many people go to the United Kingdom will even go to other neighbouring Schengen countries together, it should be insured. Schengen insurance is similar to the Schengen countries travelling medical insurance, if there are medical expenses or accidental death in foreign countries, the cost of repatriation of remains, Schengen insurance can bear part of the cost. In the past, when the UK was still a Schengen country, some travellers were asked to look at the Schengen insurance certificate, so if you have insurance, please print it out and bring it with you in your carry-on baggage as you did with your ticket.
6.Proof of transport
This is not as important as the above documents, but if you are still worried about being asked what kind of transport you are taking and how to move between countries, you can still print out your transport tickets. These documents will also come in handy once you start travelling.
